Attorney Daniel R. Meachum Honored as Advocate of the Year by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition

Attorney Daniel R. Meachum received the Advocate of the Year Award at The Keep Hope Alive Gala on Friday, October 16, 2009. Hosted by Rev. Jesse Jackson, The Rainbow PUSH Coalition and, the Citizenship Education Fund, the gala closed out their 10th annual Creating Opportunity Conference in Atlanta, GA held October 15-16, 2009.

Daniel R. Meachum, Esq. is the founder of Daniel R. Meachum & Associates, LLC and has over 20 years experience in complex litigation, premises liability, products liability, construction/design defect, labor and employment law, sports & entertainment law, commercial transactions, mergers & acquisitions, and residential & commercial real estate. Meachum, who remains humbled by the Advocate of the Year award, walked the "green carpet" with Jesse Jackson and additional honorees during the much anticipated gala event. Additional honorees included: Charles Johnson, The Honorable Robert Ford, Doug and Ryan Stewart, Gregory Lloyd, Herbert Dennard, Gail Davenport, Moses Brown, The Honorable Shirley Franklin, Vicki Palmer, The Honorable John Lewis and Roland Martin. The event highlighted the civic and economic contributions of key leaders in the community. Meachum shared with the audience, "It has been a privilege to practice law all over the United States; a privilege that was made possible by those who preceded me and set standards of excellence. Those such as: Justice Thurgood Marshall, Lawrence Douglas Wilder, Charlotte E. Ray, Charles Hamilton Houston, Patricia Roberts Harris...." He continued, "All of these great men and women stood for the proposition of excellence and perseverance and determination and hard work." The purpose of the annual Creating Opportunity Conference is to revive hope for those devastated by job and home loss, recover from economic calamity with new investments in industry and infrastructure, and renew efforts to create a level playing field for workers and children. The Keep Hope Alive Gala celebrates Jackson's birthday and benefits the work of Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Citizenship Education Fund and families facing foreclosure.
